Minnie Mouse got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today. When I saw that just now I thought Well, how about Micky? He deserves a star too. Turns out Micky Mouse already has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He got his in 1978. That's a bit unfair I think that Minnie had to wait so long to get her star. Why was he first in line? Why couldn't they get one together? Well, Micky got his for the 50th anniversary of the movie "Steamboat Willie". And Minnie got hers for the 90th anniversary of the same movie. There you have it folks. I had no idea cartoon characters get stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Thought it was just people.

I am not very familiar of this event. But it seems that even with cartoon characters there is a gender bias.

She got it because it was the 90th anniversary since the release of the movie "Steamboat Willie". Not sure why they waited till the 90th anniversary though to give it to her.

Hmmm... I wonder if he ever got a star or if they plan on giving him one? And how about Elmo?
