Do you think adding various type of salad dresssings to your salad help you reduce weight or gain weight.

A dressing with vegan mayonaise has not much calories compared to the ones with regular mayo. Lemonjuice and oil and lots of fresh herbes also does the trick in keeping the calories down. And don't forget the ingredients of the salad can be fattening too (like bacon).

it really depends on the kind of dressing you will add. if it is like the thousand island dressing or any other egg/mayonnaise based dressings, it is definitely fattening and will make you gain waight. otherwise, its best to use the vinegarette dressings with some vegetable oils like olive oil, plus pepper and salt. its fat free.

Hi! I love salads, I try to eat them every day. I switched to Dorothy Lynch dressing not just because I like it, but because it's tomato based instead of dairy based like a lot of other dressings. I think this is healthier for me. :-)

most dressings are very fattening, but i like them any way. i like to have a salad with lots of stuff on it. Like dressings,crutons, bacon bits ect.

i think it depends on what kind of dressing you use. if you use ranch or caesar or anything that is creamy like that, then it will prolly make you gain weight. i usually just put vinegar, salt, and mint on my salads...tastes good and relatively healthy too!

You think that you are being "good" when you eat a salad, however with all the dressing, bacon bits, cheese, croutons, etc. they say a salad can be more calories than a fast food meal with fries. Though it's probably healthier anyway. I usually order my salad with the dressing on the side, then dip my fork in the dressing first. You get enough taste of the dressing without wallowing in it!

well definetly adding various types of salads helps in reducing ur weight because then u wont other fatty things and still wont feel hungry

Thank you for asking, I have been wondering about that too. These answers are very helpful, thank you to our MyLot friend's for your answers !!!****** I looked at olive oils in the store the other day, they are so expensive though, darn. All the Best !!!******
