Travel Now or Travel Later?

I am a sort of confused of what the people are saying when it comes to "travelling". Some of them says that its better to travel while you're young and you have a lot of energy - YOLO, like what the young people would say (I'm still young though, not that old :P). But as per reading financial books, some of the authors would say be practical and save etc. travel later something like that. What are you're thoughts about travelling? :)

i have a relative who visited us around november and reminisced about her traveling days. she's glad she and her co-teacher traveled while they were young and had a regular salary, but wasn't able to save much. maybe you can start with local travel around the country.

@Biankee we're lucky that now with the internet, we can search blogs, tv shows, company websites, provincial websites, youtube, etc to get an idea about how to go there, where to stay, things to do, etc.

If you can afford it why not. I see some young people travel even though they couldn't afford it just for the sake of having something to brag and post on facebook. We don't travel for that purpose. We travel to enjoy, to relax, and thus we spend much more by checking in expensive resorts or hotels for our own comfort and convenience.

@hereandthere Such a pity though how people would use their hard earned money on things they don't actually need but because they want to be noticed.

@toniganzon i guess it's all about yolo (you only live once) and fomo (fear of missing out) so they live it up now, and document everything online (social media).

when you say, "I see some young people travel even though they couldn't afford it just for the sake of having something to brag and post on facebook," i think we can say the same thing about cellphones. i remember someone losing their new phone that they just started paying for. it all seems to revolve around image and lifestyle nowadays.

Might as well travel as soon as you can. Travel enriches the soul and you'll thank yourself for it when you get older.

If you are financially stable and have extra cash to spare,it's better to travel young for you to fully enjoy your adventures.Travelling can also help you in learning new knowledge and lessons which you can use in your everyday life, or a brilliant idea for a new business. The only thing is we should not get financially broke to travel. You should not take loans, travel, for something to brag about. We should travel with a purpose, so it can be beneficial to us.

I travel when I have money for it, in these last 2 years we travel aboard with our kids but I think this year we won't have extra money to do so.

I love travelling and take any chance I can get! Always great to have a chance to meet new people, try new food, and see new places.

I would say don't bother about time and money if you get a chance to travel just go and enjoy your trip either it is visiting relatives or going for a vacation or honeymoon once or twice or any sort of holiday.

Travelling is fun and exciting at the same time. But it also requires a lot of money. I believe that investment in travel is an investment to yourself.

I travel when I have the money for that. Now or later. This doesn't matter.
