Sounds of our memories

We are in Oklahoma. We arrived last night. My brother had some friends over and they were learning a new board game. I had woken up very early yesterday, and was tired. I shut my eyes and just listened. The murmuring voices took me back to when I was young. We would go to my grandparents and the kids would play, or go to bed. We could hear the grown ups talking, and playing their game. Soft voices, gentle and reacting to the game and enjoying being together. That is such a good feeling. It is comfortable like a warm blanket, wrapping around us and being safe and cared for.

My BFF lives in Oklahoma. Has a big family there. Nice to be cared for especially when we are tired or sick.

I love board games. I used to love playing them with my dad and sister when I was a kid!

Yes, it is. This is where my dad lives now. I do not have lots of family left that I have contact with except one brother, one sister and dad.

I do have a basketful of memories, so to speak. Many of them only would make sense to me.

I can so relate to this. A while back we had guests staying and about 8 were seated in the dining room waiting for breakfast. Another guest who was staying with us for the first time joined the group and commented time and again how nice it was to hear the chatter and laughter coming from the group.

How nice that it brought up good memories. Childhood memories can bring back the warmth and security of days gone by.

I do not think kids get those kinds of experiences now.
