A little information about people on Dialysis.

People with Kidney failure has trouble micturating. They cannot produce urine anymore. And for some, it is a problem. Why? Though we cannot urinate anymore, we can still experience the tingling feeling of having to urinate but we cannot produce it anymore. It is hard, I know. Also, they have issues sleeping. Even if their hemoglobin is high or they think it is high, they are times like that. But most they cannot sleep. Aside from those, skin darkens sometimes dark spots build all over the face. It's like we cannot stop it from spreading. Others will completely change their physical appearance. Do you think it's helpful? Photo grabbed from Google.com

Thank you for this helpful information. At least now I know these things about those undergoing dialysis. Is it painful to have a dialysis? Why is it that once, I saw a man for dialysis with a tube somewhere on her throat and I can see blood.

@JustBhem First dialysis, you mean that's the first thing they do for a dialysis?

The painful part is the needle that will be inserted into our skin into our veins. But the process is not, we cannot feel anything, and we can sleep because it comforts us. The one you saw in the neck is the catheter, that is where we have our first dialysis. They even call it the emergency catheter.

My son was on dialysis and got his second transplant a year ago. The first transplant lasted 8 years and then rejected. It is not fun to have this condition. It is painful and depressing. I wish you the best.

Wow. The first transplant lasted for 8 years. That's too long. And how about his second transplant? How was it?

Yes, it does. But those who undergo Dialysis already know about it as the Doctor will tell us the reaction of the treatment.

You know I knew someone who has been on dialysis for years, may be 10 years or even more! He said if not for his children he'd be giving up on his life. But by God's grace the guy is still alive and kicking till now. He is a fighter. His wife takes good care of him.

Indeed. But not most people can get a transplant. First, we need to have a bigger amount of money for the process. Second, a donor. Third, a lab test for both you and your donor.

I had seen a lot of people undergoing or have undergone dialysis, there was one who use to pass by the house always wearing a face mask because he told me his immune system is already weak and a natural amount of virus or bacteria could make him sick, he damaged his kindney from too much salt working on a desalination plant in the Middle East.

Oh, I heard that Arabs like salty and spicy food too. You are right about that. I sometimes wear a mask if I go to places where dust and a lot of people flock. And sometimes I did not because it feels like I'm running out of breath.

@JustBhem actually it was a plant that takes out salt from sea water and turns it to fresh water, perhaps a got a lot from inhaling the mist so doing it for a long time damged his kidneys.

The main problem of people undergoing dialysis is renal failure. Our kidneys is responsible for filtering our blood and getting rid of waste in our body, regulating body fluids, and production of erythropoeitin;a hormone responsible for the production of red blood cells in our bone marrow. If our kidney fails, our body can't get rid of waste products and excess fluid .It builds up in our tissues, the reason why people with kidney problem look edematous. You need dialysis to take the job of the kidney, to regulate fluid and get rid of waste products , or it will serve as a poison and excess fluid can lead to cardiac failure.
