Referral Fees as extra income

Back in 2014, I remember referring a lady to our company and earned some cash out of it. I was part of an outsourcing company and one of our business lines needed people to do call center work. The money was not that big, roughly around 300 dollars and I had to wait like three months. But then I thought its was worth the while. The person I referred was an absolute stranger who needed work. I only knew she got hired when I received an email that I will soon get a referral fee. Anyone ever tried this? Share your experience

Yes and most companies prefer internal employee referrals.

It was worth the while since all you did is refer someone to your company.
