What Is The Best Way to Eat Avocados?

I have had them in salads only.I have always wondered which are some of the best ways to include them in our diet and enjoy them too.
Also,I am not good in selecting Avocados.Either they are not ripe enough or too ripe.Do you know how to select them?
I see that there are so many recipes with Avocados.
Which is tastier--raw or cooked?
I know this fruit is very nutritious.But I am wondering more about how Avocados will taste with certain foods.
Do you like Avocados?

I like avocados and I always eat them raw. To pick up a perfect avocado, take back the small stem at the top. If it comes away easily the avocado is ripe and ready to eat. If under the stem you see that the avocado is not green, but brown it is over ripe.

@silvermist If it is brown under the stem, it means that something is wrong.

It seems many prefer Glucamole.I have never made it. I will follow a recipe from the net.

I just cut them up, take out the seed, then eat it together with whatever I am eating by scooping with a teaspoon. My aunts use to make desserts by putting cream or milk and sugar on scooped pieces then refrigerated till cold.

@silvermist not everybody likes the frozen desert but avocado had been turned to ice cream by some home made ice cream makers and it's very delicious.

I think your method of eating them is good.

I make guacamole with avocados and put it on my potatoes - baked and mashed, also on my eggs - omelet. I'm always looking for new ways to have it. I don't just slice it up for salads, though that's good too. I've never cooked it.

Putting Glucamole on mashed potatoes seems to be a good idea.Going to try that.Not keen on putting it on eggs though.

It is very rare to get Avacados in restaurants here.I too have tasted only raw

@silvermist There is a popular breakfast dish called smashed avocados - just avocados on toast I think but they have stopped offering it because of the expense.

I love avocadoes on toast with runny egg on top other wise I just eat it raw.

I do like avocados, but I am terrible in trying to remove the pit. Thus, I don't buy them. But I love them on a bacon, tomato, and avocado sandwich. Of course, guacamole is delicious! Oddly, avocado toast is a huge thing nowadays and it is everywhere in trendy restaurants and bistros.

Raw and cut up/diced or scooped by a spoon, then add some powdered milk and a bit of sugar! Mmmm. Especially when the avocado is from the refrigerator and it's still cold. Oh delicious.

I bought avocados last time from spencers..i did not like it...outside its green but inside its like soft paste , i thought atleast it will be like mango and we can cut and eat like mango..but no

i like eating fruits I hardly eat avocados. It is the fruit that I like the least.
