Maine State Police Detective rescues one man who was inside a house on fire

Maine State Police Detective Scott Quintero was driving on Maine Highway 3 in China Maine on Thursday evening when he noticed a house on fire. Quintero went to check if anyone was inside the house that was on fire to see if he could be of service in saving anyone who was inside the home. Rita Lessard was able to get out of the home she shared with her husband Richard Lessard when she was awakened by the smoke alarm system inside the home while was sleeping. Detective Quintero went inside the home to rescue Richard and get him safely out of the house before the firefighters arrived to put out the fire. Richard was taken to a local hospital where was treated for smoke inhalation but he is expected to survive. The fire investigators reported the news that the fire was started by a wood stove that in the garage that is close to the house.
