The puppy and I were both hiding

Yesterday when my daughter got home from school her friend texted me and asked if she could come over for a few hours. The puppy was very scared and sat behind the washer and dryer hiding. The girl is very sweet but never stops talking. She is here to visit with my daughter but winds up following me around talking my ear off. It bugs me because I was raised not to do that to adults. So I decided to change my bed sheets and clean my room. I needed my daughters help to flip the mattress so then her friend came in after and started talking my ear off so I eventually left the room and she continued talking lol. After she left my daughter was mad at her brother who played video games with her friend. I remember that feeling once when I was young and a friend of mine came over and wound up playing with my sister most the time. But my daughters 13 so I was annoyed at the jealousy at her age. In other news I used the last day of my Amazon Prime membership to order my kids Valentines Day gifts. It’s been bitter cold here the past few days. I noticed in a week I’ve already gone through 1/4 of a tank of oil so that’s approximately $150 a week I’m spending to heat my house. The photo is just a photo of my pretty parrot to add some cuteness to my post. Cell phone pictures aren’t the greatest sorry.

We are probably spending about the same amount on oil to heat our home. I love having amazon prime mine just renewed as I forgot about it but it's helpful at christmas time and when I need something quick. It was bitter cold here yesterday only 15 degrees and wind gusts 30mph so yeah wasn't fun. Today it's going to be in the 20's with wind gusts also. Well sorry your daughter felt jealous about her friend, i hope she gets over that soon. Have a great day!

very cute. i understand jealousy first hand. with me though it was my mom. mom paid little attention to me but when one of my cousins was visiting or some other child, it seemed she paid a lot of special attention to them.

Aww that would have been hard to deal with. My mother favored my sister so I had huge amounts of jealousy towards her.

Thats alot to heat your house a week! Honestly, jealously doesnt have an age. And she's still young, even at 13. I would just have her talk to her friend about how it made her feel, and that she'd rather her come over for her not her brother. instead of her going off on her brother.

Thankfully my house is small. My parents pay twice as much as their home as is 3 times the size of mine. I did tell my daughter I understood how she felt but then she kept harping about it over and over for hours so I finally got annoyed.

@shaggin no, she should tell her friend how her going over and hanging with her brother instead od her made her feel. And tell her shed like if that didnt happen.

True shes so shy about things though she acts differently toward others then she does her brother and I. I think she'd be to embarassed to admit to her friend she doesn't want her playing video games with her brother.

Maybe your daughter is happy when she wants to hang out with you instead. I do not blame the dog for hiding and I know it is not nice.

No my daughter wants her friend to spend time with her and that's it. I said where was my daughter when her friend was following me all over talking my ear off and my daughter said she didn't want to interrupt her. I told her next time to please do

I have a friend who takes over. Even if I initiate the call she monopolises the conversation. It is annoying no doubt

I always wanted a parrot so when a friend was selling it on Facebook I bought it. He sure is an ornery loud bird but he can be a lot of fun too. My boyfriend and his son and dog can over yesterday so I spent time with them. I got a cut picture of my man sleeping on the couch and both dogs laying on him.

My own daughter it doesn't bother me if she talks to me but when my boyfriend is here if she follows us all over with nonsense conversation I tell her to stop. I think this girl my daughters friends being an only child has something to do with her trying to be one of the adults.

The pipes would all freeze and burst if I didn't turn the hear on especially when it gets below zero most nights in winter. We do wear layers though and keep the heat as low as possible.

It's possible but I doubt it. I think being an only child she feels like one of the adults. Sometimes she will text me and I feel weird about it. I'm not friends with my kids friends you know. She should text my daughter only. I don't know I guess I was just raised differently not to bug adults.

Yep school was all about socializing for me and that was not helpful to the teachers as all. I miss school because I rarely ever get to talk to those friends that I was with all the time during school. One moved far away and got friends at college she had in her wedding and never even invited me after I invited her to mine years before actually I wanted her as my bridesmaid but she didn't come.

Our son and his wife are using our house now, and he was shocked with the $685 oil fillup. He wants to pay, but we told him to save his money for a new house. Kids!

I would feel the same if I were him. I remember you saying you keep it heated while you aren't there so then I would likely just pay the difference of what he uses if he turns the heat up etc.

We have electricity for lights etc but my furnace uses fuel oil to heat my home. The furnace used 1/4 of a tank of the oil already.
