Diary Thursday 1st February 2018 A shiny new month, though the shortest of the year. I spent the afternoon job searching and preparing for tomorrow’s quite demanding voluntary work. Diary Friday 2nd February 2018 I had a talk to present to students at the university about my cult experiences and how they affected my mental health. I was on for 45 minutes with about sixty students being very attentive and asking some great questions. In the afternoon the community centre had a talk about a nearby wildlife sanctuary at a place called Brockholes, to which they hope to organize a day trip in the spring. The centre attracts birds, badgers, squirrels and much more besides. This was followed by a quiz, which was quite tough though the table I was one won, 9 points to 6, about of twenty-five questions. There were no prizes. I was given a bag of food to bring home afterwards and a lady there kindly gave me a lift home too. Diary Saturday 3rd February 2018 A day at home, with not much going on. My small laptop cable died. I sent off for a new one online along with a spare keyboard too. The rest of the day was spent online on the main computer. Arthur Chappell

Have you ever written about your cult experiences on here? I remember you mentioning this before.

@Kandae11 and @celticeagle I spent the first half of the 1980's brainwashed into an Eastern meditation cult called Divine Light Mission - some of my early posts on here cover it in more detail and it comes up from time to time. I sometimes get invited to talk to groups, organizations and students on my experiences

Do you find it therapeutic to talk about the cult experience or is it so far in the past that you have been able to move on?

@asfarasiknow it is theraputic - I am moving on with life but is impossible to fully escape the sense of how much the cuklt redirected my life, and I hope my writings on it help warn others of the dangers cults present too

I spoke to a friend a few days ago who, while in England a couple of years back, hid in a hide (?) and watched badgers going about their business. It's now on my wishlist.

The wildlife sanctuary sounds pretty cool. I'd go check it out.
