Update on my two cases

1. Case with the bank The bank has been given additional time till the 27th of this month to file some documents. The case was filed on November 6, 2017, and as per law it should have been over by January 6, 2018. Even if our documents are ready much before, they only take them from us on the date given by them. In the meanwhile, we get ulcers, and keep on reading and re reading and adding and modifying the documents and arguments. I have memorized three sets so far. 2. The one that has been moving from court to court for 32 odd years. A new party was impleaded last February / March. There were no hearings throughout the year even though it is now a computerized system. Yesterday our case came up for hearing. The new party sought adjournment. So it has been deferred by one month and 15 days. There is no time within which the verdict should be given on this case. Good news is that it is described as the Final Hearing even on the court's site, which was not the case earlier. How is it in your world?

I hope the "Final Hearing" will really be final. I see that @alberello75 already gave his opinion about Italy. He is unfortunately right. If he is ashamed to be Italian living in Italy, imagine when you live in another country.

@vandana7 When it comes to Justice and Formal papers Italy is a mess, it is slower than a low snail.

Yeah and the ulcers that it gives make sitting tough. :) Lawyers are so bored with the system that most of the time they are not even attending and are sending us, hoping that nothing will progress and whatever little will be asked, we the clients can manage. 4 hearings so far in the 1st case, 3 I have attended without the lawyer.

Yes, as others have said, let's hope that "final" means final.

I forgot to tell you. The system did not mention there was a case hearing on the 6th. Our advocate called up suddenly. Everything was such a rush job. Aunt who takes the material to the court had me rushing for info. It came for hearing which is not often. I mean many cases are listed and the judges listen to them sequentially. By the time our number comes, the court time gets over. So to that extent, we were lucky. May be that is what has taken it to that "final hearing" stage. Will get the information any time now. :)

Did I understand well, you have a case for 32 years? OMG. I thought that the justice system is slow here, but the cases usually finishes in 5-10 years.

@vandana7 I will never say again that our national system is slow. I mean 32 years mean so much stress and frustration waiting for the final decision of the court.

Well, it's been embarrassing with our Government shutting down three times within months because of not agreeing to things. We have a president with a good business sense but childish tweeting. He needs Twitter taken away. Outside of politics (that's about as political as I get), it's a nice chilly quiet night and going to read some before bed. Nothing exciting but it's all good too.

32 years for a case to be figured? How in the world? I hope whatever it is, has a good outcome! That just seems insane! Is that normal for cases over there?
