Eldest is home again

Both yesterday and today, my eldest has woken up with a slight fever. I have given her some advil, but also thought it best to keep her home. Yesterday morning, she even asked if she could stay home, which is unusual for her, considering she loves school. I know something is up, if she asks to stay home. I know she was a little disappointed to stay home today, but that didn't last too long. There were moments yesterday, when she did seem alright. Even now, she doesn't seem overly sick. But I still feel better keeping her home. Especially with a bit of a fever. Even with a slight fever, it's sometimes best to keep her home and let rest. I may try to send to school tomorrow, but we'll have to just wait and see. I'll see how she feels tomorrow.

Our school always sent a child home with a fever, slight or not. You are wise to keep her home, and I hope she feels better soon.

Over here even if your child has a running nose, the school will call the mother to come and take her home. Children can catch germs fast.

@mydanods Our school system didn't like kids missing school, so only if they had a fever or vomited, they remained in their seats. Of course, I got sick all the time from them. lol

Lots of liquids always helps- and she should be okay tomorrow. Have a bit of a scratchy throat.

I'll definitely make sure she drinks a lot of water and juice. I do hope she's alright by tomorrow.

That is so awesome to hear your daughter loves school! My son hates it. My daughter does excellent in school but I wouldn't say she likes it. My daughter wasn't feeling good yesterday not today so I kept her home from school. Hopefully both our girls feel better tomorrow and can return to school!

I hope they feel better soon too. Although my daughter's teacher reminded me yesterday that today is a ped day for them. So, my daughter has an extra day off.

Did the right thing to keep her off School. She will lbe much better for resting today. Perhaps she had got a cold coming and hope she is much better now.

@dodo19 Seeing as there are a lot of children off School here for cold I reckon its quite general and she will be fine in no time at all.

It is always better to keep even a slightly sick child home if only for the benefit of the other children.

Exactly. It's just best for everyone. I don't want others to get sick, and I want her to get better.

yes better to keep her home with fever, hopefully she doesn't have the flu that is going around. Some are just running fever and have body aches. Hope she feels better soon

I am certainly hoping it's not the flu. We'll just have to see what happens.

@dodo19 I had the flu but only had the body aches, headaches and tiny fever. Other than that not too bad

Absolutely. I won't send her if she's still not feeling 100%.

She's probably better off staying home and resting. She may recover faster than pushing herself to go to school.

Exactly. Sometimes we really do need some rest at home when we don’t feel too well.

If she isn't well, she is better off at home - and she won't be spreading her germs.
