Before I go any further, I want to again offer my sincere thanks to all of you who left notes of condolences about my dad’s death yesterday. If you’ve been through this you probably know how comforting it is to hear a word of kindness at a difficult time. Thank you, from myself and my family. Here’s the next song on my list of favorite songs with “town” in the title. The first two songs on the countdown were classic country tunes. This isn’t. #8: Uh-Oh, Love Comes to Town - Talking Heads Oh, sure, I’m going to leave this band out, right? What do you think is wrong with me??? Lumped in with “punk,” if you listen to the single version of this song, you’ll see why that was utterly confusing. It sounded more like a pop song. And that is part of the beauty of Talking Heads. Fueled by one of Tina Weymouth’s great bass lines (lots of Talking Heads songs really feature the bass more as the lead instrument than the guitar), this song is a lighthearted, almost innocent look at falling in love and the consequences of being head-over-heels in love (“I called in sick I won’t go to work today, I’d rather be with the one I love”). And, according to the song, it affects everyone that way: “jet pilot going out of control, ship’s captain run aground, stock broker make a bad investment when love has come to town.” Nothing like Talking Heads. Not then, not now, not ever. Uh-Oh, Love Comes to Town Written by David Byrne Recorded by Talking Heads From Talking Heads: 77, 1977 Why am I going out of my head:

A good band that I appreciate more now than I did then.

There are two "hits" left, if that's any indication as to how low your chances are.....

@FourWalls - It actually was a hit. I used to play it on the radio. And it might surprise you that that particular song is what came to mind, and not "Red Berry Joy Town" by The Wonder Stuff, or "The Only Fun in Town" by Josef K. But I think it has a very good chance of showing up!
