It Rained - My Dog Can't Figure Out How to Pee Outside

When we got up this morning, it had rained. There were a lot of pits outside, and it was still raining a little. My dog, Nefnef, put down her breaks as we got closer to the entrance door. I dragged her outside, stepping between pits myself in my flip-flops. Nefnef made funny sounds, looked at me and blinked against the drops of water. We had to go in a again a few minutes later. I couldn't go very far in flip-flops and socks because of the water, and she couldn't figure out how to pee anyway. She'll turn four in May, but she still behaves like a puppy in many ways. Yesterday in the park, I tried to tell a man that she was three and a half years old, but couldn't remember how to say 'half' in Hebrew, so he finished the sentence for me: three months. So she both looks young and behaves like a youngster :D Do you have a dog? Does it have any quirks?

@sindore I'm not really.a cat persona as I've always been a dog person since I was a kid. But after losing two of my dogs, I decided to get a cat and have fallen in love. But I don't think I'll have more cats.

I used to be a cat person, but that changed. I understand why you miss having a dog. I love having both a cat and a dog.

I think she just doesn't understand the rain. She 'talks', sort of. She has different sounds for different things, and when she was younger, she used the 'pee' sound when it had rained. I don't know if she imagined that some HUGE beast had been outside to pee. And yes, she did it three hours later, when there wasn't as much water outside.

My dogs have gotten use to being outdoors. As they started to get bigger we decided to put up dog houses build from old lumbers. They still come inside but most of the time prefer to laze around in the yard. What does "nefnef" mean?

I only take my dog out on a leash. Even though we live in a house, we don't have a garden. Nefnef is a name I came up with, inspired of the Hebrew word 'nephesh' which means 'soul' or 'spirit' (to my knowledge).

If it's raining outside one of my cats refuses to pee or poo outside... I guess the rain annoys them!

Thank you, @sw8sincere. She is very friendly... unless you're a bigger dog than her. She got bitten a lot as a puppy, so now she doesn't trust dogs.
