Russia not represented as a country in winter Olympics in South Korea

I love the winter Olympics. I was shocked to hear that Russia is not represented as a country at these Olympic games in South Korea (because of the doping scandal at the last Olympic games in Sochi). It is an embarrassment for that nation and I wonder what will happen in the future Olympic games as far as Russia is concerned. It's a good thing that athletes from Russia were still allowed to compete in these games, those that were not part of the doping scandal or tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. They compete under the Olympic flag as opposed to the Russian Federation and are referred to as Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR). There will not be a medal count for Russia at these games as is done for all the countries participating.
