Law enforcement responded to reports of a shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, just before 3 p.m. The shooter: The suspect, a former student, was taken into custody, according to local authorities. The victims: At least 17 people were killed. When are these things going to stop...

It was tragic. It's sad that many people had seen signs that the shooter was planning to shoot people far ahead of time, but they didn't tell anyone. I guess they were more afraid of speaking up than having their school shot up. Law enforcement officers have been telling people for some time if they see something to say something. This young man had posted enough of his intentions on social media to warn people of what he intended to do, but not when or how. But no one said anything to authorities or even teachers. This person might have been stopped if people hadn't been afraid to report what they had seen on social media or heard from the shooter himself.
