As you all are aware my mom recently have been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Now from today onwards her treatment gets started. She will have her first chemotherapy done. Today doctor will tell about the cycles . She will have the surgery done after the completion of the cycles. Them again she will have chemotherapy and radiation.
Hope so with God's grace she withstands it. If anyone know please let us know what are the precautions we should take during and after chemotherapy?.

I am so glad she isn't stage four. I know it is important she eat very clean, like a bunch of fresh food such as fruit, vegetables, and lean meat. My aunts used to work at Cancer Center Treatment of America, and one of my aunts had stage four colon cancer and was treated there (she is now 9 years cancer free). They focused on the medical treatment, but also diet, and having peace on the inside.
I'm sure your love and support means the most.

@andriaperry My aunt didn't lose any weight either. The teams of doctors at Cancer Center Treatment of America told her to eat that way because it helps the body fight off infection and eases the side effects of some therapies.
Oddly, and I'm sure it's rare, although she bought wigs in preparation for chemo, none of her hair fell out.

Tony has had chemo. My advice is :
When the hair starts falling out go ahead and cut it off, its sad to brush your hair and it falls in the floor.
When the joint pain begins use bio freeze on the skin.
When she won`t eat, fix her a plate anyways with just a small portion.
When she feels like throwing up, let her drink blackberry juice.
The most important thing for her to do to make it through this is eat, eat no matter if she throws it up. eat if she cannot taste it. AND let her pick food, sometimes Tony would not eat nothing but ice cream all day, every meal. Other days it was just pineapple. but the point is they are eating.
She will sleep a lot so let her sleep all she wants.
I am usually here every night f you need to ask me something, I have been a caregiver for a long time.

@andriaperry I don't know much about it. People say radiation is tougher than chemo to bear.

I don't know a lot about it but during chemo her natural resistance might be low so staying away from crowds where she might catch a cold or flu could be important. And try to get her to eat well. And stay positive - which of course is easier said than done. Wishing you all, all the best and sending prayers.

Sending her prayers and all good wishes for her to be able to get through all of the treatment.
That is all I know how to do.
We have just dealt with a similar case in the Family and now we are going through it again and its serious.
Wishing strength for you all too.
