Even though this pic doesn't show it, it was an incredibly sunny day for a funeral. A cousin-in-law of mine's mother passed away so we travelled to the city to pay our respects. It turned out to be a busy drive through the city traffic both there and back but I was glad I went.
Sometimes funerals and weddings are the only time you get to see distant family or long time friends who don't live close by and that part's a bit of a shame.
Turned out to be a gloriously sunny day and I got lots of Vitamin D along with good fellowship with family. Sad occasion but very glad we went. Makes me want to plan to see these people more often.

Really true in this fast paced world. And I vow to make more of an effort in the future. It was great to see them.

I think we can't be bothered to travel long distances or phone people out of the blue- who knows?
