Trivia Phone Bank

This weekend I played trivia - the 50 hour yearly event hosted by a local college radio station, the only difference being - this year my friend and I played on the phone bank, and not on a team. It's super fun. Here's how it works.
In this yearly event a weekend is set aside for Trivia weekend. It is 50 hours straight of Trivia. Questions are asked over the air on the radio. 9 questions per hour, all questions being closed at the end of the hour. Teams do research and call in in the answers to volunteers at the phone bank. If they are right - they score points and the top 3 teams win small prizes but mostly this is for prestige. ;-) Some people take it rather seriously and others take it for fun.
This reflects in the people calling in to the phone bank. Some people will kid around with the phone bank. Others are more professional.
There's lots of people to talk to and since this happens at a college campus lots of wacky stuff happens.
The theme this year was "Spies" so we had men running through to phone bank in spy costumes shooting each other with foam darts.
We had someone in a giant T-Rex costume come through.
Another big bonus was that area restaurants donate large amounts of food for phone bank volunteers. In exchange, they get on air advertising. So, about every 2 hours was a plethora of new food coming in - pizzas, Mexican food, Italian food, Sub sandwich, roast beef, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, chicken wings, Chinese food, Indian food, Soup, cold cuts, donuts, bagels .... tons of food and even tons of energy drinks. Needless to say, I wish there was a magic room in my place that would fill up with food every few hours. lol.
If you ever have the chance to play trivia over the radio I highly recommend it :-)

@teamfreak16 Oh yeah - we have people play remotely a lot. Easier to play with an established team.
If interested next year I know a team who would welcome another player.
Here's the radio station's website:

Oh I should have clarified - they do discourage the phone bank from doing it all 50 hours. Teams too - sometimes as people get more sleep deprived during this things there are little disputes and grouchiness.
Free food awesome next year I hope to come early and eat all 3 meals for 2 days free lol
