Learning to Swim--Day 17

For the second time this winter, we did get warm and mild weather in the 70s! The perfect day to open up the windows and doors to let the fresh air in for a short while, before it'll drop down and become rainy tomorrow morning. At least it would beat the snow. The walk was lovely and sublime to have sunshine and plenty of fresh air. I've gotten to the gym a few minutes and prepared to do some laps with Paige today. Once again, I did my usual warmup: 1 lap of backstroke, 1 lap with the elementary backstroke. Then it was back to doing timed laps of doing the backstroke. Paige wanted me to do six of them, but I ended up doing five-and-a-half, since I got water in my eyes and nose and some in my mouth. She also wanted me to work on my kicks a tiny bit. Then she wanted me to go as far as I could go without stopping with the remaining time we had left. I had the choice of backstroke or elementary backstroke. I chose the elementary backstroke and did 3 laps (1000 yards). Then I called it a day. Paige said she wanted to mix things up for Thursday lesson, by doing timed laps first and work more on the breast stroke. As for the weather for the next two days, tomorrow morning will be super-wet. So it would be a no-go for water aerobics. But tomorrow evening is good and in the 30s with 35% chance of rain at 6 PM and later on. If Sara offers me a ride home, I'll be happy to have a lift tomorrow night. Thursday is another go for lesson #18. I'll let you know about Friday's weather tomorrow too. (No word from Rachel yet via texts.)
