I made the dip.

I made the arugula dip and found out what I would take away from the recipe. I should not have added any milk even though it was just a bit. It is much too liquid and I am not sure how I will use it as a dip. Still, I could use it as a dressing (it´s delicious) but right now I wanted an appetizer. It will not be wasted anyway. I added a bit of English sauce and more salt than what the recipe said. The dip came out with a white color with a small amount of green. I finely grated the nuts so they did not have a different taste or feeling from the rest of the sauce. Altogether, I liked it. Do you try new recipes and then make amendments?

I am never brave enough to stray too far from the recipe.

I do not add milk to the arugula dip, only cream cheese and a bit of sour cream. The arugula pesto is also delicious.

I was following a recipe, but I will make amends to it. No milk. This one had several strong cheeses besides the cream cheese. I have never done pesto with anything but basil.

@marguicha I make arugula pesto in summer, I have plenty of arugula in my garden. It is an interesting variation, good to serve with the special Italian pasta called "orecchiette".

Any salty paste can be turned into an appetizer.

I usually follow a recipe pretty carefully but Vince is much more creative and adds all sorts of things. It always works out well.

It does. I always dare when cooking and I´m a very good cook, or so my friends say.

I love trying new recipes. Some need no adjustment, some are so bad they aren't worth adjusting at all and some I do customize after trying them to get them where I like them. Add cornstarch to thicken it up maybe?
