This Friday is a meatless day for us. I prepared our lunch by frying these smoked 'tinapa' fish (herring) and slicing 3 salted red eggs with tomatoes. The freshly cooked rice plus the vinegar to dip the fish with, will be good to fill our tummies. Let's have lunch!

We eat very little meat, most of the days we eat fish. Friday we usually eat fish, for me it is a long time habit.

When my gtandma was still alive we also do that. But my husband is a carnivorous person. So I try to give him salad instead

we do not have meatless meals for the most part, I have a house full of boys they might sell me to the lowest bidder if I did that.

hahaha! i understand you. men need more protein especially if they are in to strenuous activities. besides, meat can add more muscles.

I love herring, and would have added red onions, too. Looks delicious!

@ridingbet I've only had them fried in a Korean restaurant. We eat herring in a cream sauce with onions, my favorite, or pickled.

It's good practice to not eat meat at times. I like smoked tinapa
