A bedbugs story

I usually am a clean person who takes extra care of my clothing and apartment. I also expect that of others. But I had a rude awakening when paid a visit to my auntie. She is a widow and has about 3 of her children living in the house while the others have left for the city.
On my visit I was given a room of my own. But it was a room I would later regret sleeping in. I was attacked by bedbugs at night. When I woke up in the morning I had swellings all over my body. I still wonder how I was able to sleep through that night. I cut short my visit because I was afraid of the bedbugs. I didn't tell her about it. I didn't want to embarrass her. But I will never sleep on that bed again. The experience lives with me till today.
Have you had an experience with bedbugs?

@mydanods I am not sure what it is, a special kind of earth. It comes in bags. I bought some at Walmart but I am sure you can get it other places too. You sprinkle it around where you have seen crawling things. Just don't overuse it. It clogs the vacuum cleaner and is hard to clean up.
They walk through it and it kills them. I live in Florida and it is full of bugs of all kinds. If you are worried about bedbugs, make sure whatever you use on them is labeled for killing them. Some pesticides don't.

Yes, they are awful. I did daycare and one of my daycare children brought them into my home, the mom didn't tell me they had them. It was awful getting rid of them and now I am very paranoid of going to others homes or sleeping in hotels. I hate those things.

You should have told her. They are a pain to get rid of and you may have brought them home
