Is The United Nations a pathetic embarrassment ?

The United Nations are becoming more of an embarrassment than even the National Rifle Association these days. Their inaction over Syria has to be the end game for the increasing pathetic organisation. Iraq and America’s disgusting behavior to use them to invade Iraq was bad enough but to allow Russia to run the show on the Security Council over Syria is weak and risible. The UN is essentially a tool for the rich white west to keep power, nothing else. It’s an embarrassment. As we all know Russia are backing Assad with their military power to keep him in office as they don’t want to surrender control of the port cities and Damascus, Russia’s most important foothold in the Middle East. They can park their aircraft carriers offshore there to keep presence in the region, and an eye on their oil interests in Iran. We were mad as hell when Colin Powell lied; lied and lied again in the UN to force war in Iraq with all that WMD nonsense and here we are again. Syria, like Iraq, was quite secular and intelligent in its citizens and hope in the Middle East. But we can’t resist destabilizing all that so we can sell weapons to their neighbors. Did you know the five countries on the all powerful United Nations Security Council are the world’s biggest arms exporters? Yes, I know the U.S sustain Israel’s strength and place in the region by never vetoing anything Israel does, however rule breaking, but at least that’s because of provocation from another nation. Yes, Syria is ripping itself apart through traditional Sunni and Shia fault lines but that could have been stopped early if the west and Russia had stepped in. This would have stopped the massive migrant flow to Europe that’s toppling governments every month, Italy next to fall. But these are mothers and kids being blown part in a systematic ethnic cleansing operation in Syria and because they are brown skinned people, like Rwanda and Myanmar, nobody cares at the UN. In fact the UN was deliberately set up not to be able to act if you ask me so to avoid internal conflicts. It legalizes war and mass slaughter. Everybody who works there knows that it’s useless but keep taking the big salaries, a disgrace in itself. Let’s not forget their third world aid workers are mostly cowering in the compounds and only leave to find prostitutes.

I really weep for Syria. It breaks my heart. I watched a documentary on how it all started. Very simple mistake has taken away so many lives

Pretty complex scenario. The UN is not as influential or as powerful as it was 20 years ago.
