What to choose Paper or Plastic ?

It's my son's birthday 2 weeks from now and he's having a party my wife started listing down the things we need and there are two items that I haven't quite decided yet... Plates and Cups. What's better Plastic or Paper?

I would go for paper, plastic pollutes too much.

Paper cups since those are biodegrable and better to the environment than plastic ones.

@Kakashi20 Congrats on his birthday. How old will he be? I would say paper because I think they are sturdier.
