Favorite Record Producers #3 - Dave Allen

We have reached the podium in my countdown celebrating my favorite record producers, who shape the music that I love. We are at #3, and the Bronze Medal goes to Dave Allen. You might not have heard of him, but Dave Allen (not to be confused with the hilarious British comedian) is practically a human blueprint for alternative music. Just check out some of the albums that were produced by him: The Top, The Head on the Door, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, Disintegration, and Wish (all by The Cure,) First and Last and Always by The Sisters of Mercy, Strange Times by the Chameleons, Not of This Earth by The Damned, Aura by The Mission, and Book of Days by the Psychedelic Furs. Allen is one creative hombre. He also designed websites for both Chrysalis and Rough Trade Records, and his company, Blank Multimedia, once created a 24-Hour online Art gallery. You see that list of albums up there? At one time or another, I have owned a copy of every single one of them. Hell, The Cure's Disintegration is a masterpiece, and it was made under the guidance of Dave Allen. That says it all right there. (The blueprint for 80's alternative info verified by Wikipedia)
