Leaving Me Behind

Once again, I have to stay behind, I sure hope I will be able to go soon. My husband travels for work and Sunday he leaves for Hong Kong. I am a little worried about him having to travel to these places with the way things are in the world now but hope he will be safe.
I would love to go with him but, I can't travel until blood pressure regulates. All I have to pay for when he goes on these trips is my airline ticket and he is allowed to use his travel miles for me.
I have already missed out on London, New Zealand twice, now Hong Kong and Belgium. I really hope that I will be able to go one the next one.
Keep your fingers crossed for me and for him to be safe of this trip. Have you ever gotten to travel to these places when your spouse goes on a work trip?

Wishing him a very safe journey on his way to his work and back again.
Also wishing that your blood pressure regulates and you are able to travel with him and see a bit of the World.
I was never able to travel as the youngest was ill most of the time.

I haven't been lucky enough to see much of the world but hope you can manage a trip with your husband one of these days. It's nice that you can go without much cost

Well I have always worked before so have never been able to get away for it but now that I am not working, I would love to take advantage of it for a little while. I will go back to work soon though because I am so bored. Yes, his work will pay for everything except my flight and shopping lol

I know, I would love to get out of here and go to another country. I am going to try and go on the next one with him. He did tell me to start figuring out where I really want to go and start planning now and we will take a vacation next year.

@cintol Our older son travels to settle problems or fire corporate presidents as a chief compliance officer and attorney for his firm. He goes to London, Dubai, etc. but won't take my daughter-in-law because she'd be bored. He works, has meetings, eats with the other lawyers, comes home, and goes to work the next day. It's not exactly a vacation.

@DianneN I can understand that for her, he sounds like he stays really busy and wouldn't have much time for sight seeing. My husband is a computer engineer, he installs servers for companies all around the world and in the states but he only works during their business hours and then he has his time. I wouldn't mind going with him and shopping during the day because he would be able to go do things with me after work.

@cintol Oh no. I am sorry to hear =( Maybe the next job will have some perks. Or maybe he has some air miles left so you two can have a nice mini vacation!

@infatuatedbby I hope so and we had to cash the air miles in because it was a company card and they closed it. Its ok though we got over $100 in gift cards for them.

I'm sorry your blood pressure is keeping you behind on those trips. I'll pray it settles and you're able to go on the next trip. The only trip my husband ever traveled on was in the Navy and we were stationed on Guam. Guam is beautiful!

Did your blood pressure worsen after you moved to Texas? You lived at a different elevation most of your life, which would make a difference.

No, its been getting worse over the years in Colorado, they moved me to sea level to try and bring it down and regulate it. It has been getting slowly better but when I get infections it goes up. I now have a sinus infection because my allergies here are crazy so it is up right now. Until I can get my body straightened out and give it a chance to regulate, it will be a challenge. High altitude has less oxygen, I moved from 6000 ft to 770 ft above sea level.

@spiderdust Having more oxygen here helps me breathe a little better otherwise I was on oxygen there. They tried everything else with me there, now I just have to wait for my body to regulate and get used to this elevation for it to adjust. It was in the 200s/100's in Colorado, it has only done that once here so far and that was from the infection and stress. I have seen lower numbers here that I haven't seen for years living there so I know its trying to lower.

@cintol Interesting, I was told in a health class that coming down to sea level after living at high altitude increased blood pressure instead of reducing it. I'm sure your doctors know a lot more than my health teacher!

What a shame that you are missing out on travelling to those fabulous places. I hope your blood pressure levels out soon. My husband worked in France for a year and took me and both of our children with him. That was a long time ago, but it was a great experience.
