Since last few years there are many news items stating that in India the Chicken what we get is having very high amount of antibiotics in it. The main reasons quoted were unorganized farming, improper knowledge and human greed to get good body weight. But today in the News Paper there was a full page from All India Poultry Farming society. It has stated that it is not true and they have published the results obtained from the labs which clearly shows that the chicken available in India is having much less amounts of antibodies than the prescribed norms! According to them since India is a vast country and having lot of potential for Chicken marketing, the outside agencies are playing pranks. The reason? So that they can promote their own produced chicken in India! Which I believe is quite possible! What do you feel, do we really getting Chicken with lot of antibiotics here in India? What is the position of the Chicken you get at your place dear friend? Please Comment, so that we all would like to know about your views ! Thanks!

Those are the hormones which you are talking about dear @Icydoll , which are also not good for health....antibiotics are added in the feed of the birds to keep them away from infections which is again bad for us if it is transferred into the body of the birds! Thanks!

I have read about that but we need to eat some meat and that is the only meat we eat. Nothing has happened to us.

That is true , most of us are consuming this, in long run the antibiotics used in the poultry become resistant and they fail to act on the body in case of any infections when they are suppose to act most! Thanks dear @allknowing! Thanks!

@AKRao24 Exactly, the danger is that our body get the habit to the antibiotics and then it does not respond anymore in case of serious health problems.

I heard about that too, and some say that those antibiotics are responsible for kids to be in puberty stage younger and younger.

Yes there are all kinds of stuff in chickens now. If you do not want to have that, here, you must buy farm fresh organic chickens. Expensive.

Yes, organic meats are very expensive as the cost of raising the animals in natural way works out very expensive for the people who are into this business! Thanks dear @Courage7 ! Have a great time!

I don´t know here. But I have the suspicion that the chicks I eat are not as healthy as they should be. I´m sure that too much fat means too many hormones. Chicken (and people) used to be thinner when I was young.
