Sun's Going Down

As I sit here I am beginning to see the start of sunset for the last day before Daylight Savings time begins in the early am hours tonight. it will take a couple of days of getting use to the sun seemingly rise later but that is OK as I will enjoy the extra hour of sunlight in the evening. This may be the last time Florida will have to spring forward for after the Governor signs the bill of keeping us on Daylight Saving time year round and Congress approves there will be no more falling back with the main reason of dong this is for the tourism industry and now I got a line from a song playing in my head "sun's going down Take a look around for the set time of the hour is upon us"

I was just commenting about DST to my neighbors yesterday, telling them that this should be the last time we ever have to change our clocks here in Florida. They weren't aware that Florida was switching to permanent DST. I explained the situation to them, and let them know that all we are waiting on now is for Congress to approve the bill. If they approve, the new permanent DST will become law in July and then we won't have to worry about changing our clocks back in November!

@Elizaby He hasn't signed it yet? I thought he had already done that! Oops!

The Governor still needs to sign which I think he will since the bill overwhelmingly passed in both house and senate

That will mean that the sun there in Florida will set around 9 pm at night. Wow. That is late. Although I wouldn't mind that here in NYC.

@Elizaby Okay, that's good. We get dark here in the summer around almost nine o'clock. But then the days get shorter after June 21st. As it always does.

I wish our governor would approve it. We tried to put it through last year, but it failed.

I like daylight savings time. The negative is that I lose one hour of sleep tonight.

I love the longer evenings where I live, but if I lived in Florida, I would be satisfied with anything! If it were not for family and friends, I would move to a warmer climate as fast as I could. I envy you.

I heard about it and think it will make Florida a more sunnnier sunshine state!

That's interesting that your state is considering year round daylight saving.
