How MyLot will help me make about $221.0000 this weekend!

If I survive this afternoon's old folks home gig, I will set a new personal record for money made through music and MyLot without leaving town. Friday night, I played a rock 'n roll gig at a local bar until 1 AM. It went well. We had people up and dancing. Last night I played a 6 PM Western Swing gig at a local BBQ place, and then darted out to the same bar, switched from acoustic to electric bass, and played another gig until 1 AM. Today, the Western Swing band has an afternoon gig at a local old folks home. If I survive that gig, I will have played four gigs in one weekend, a personal record, and made about $221.0000 via local music and MyLot, also a personal record. Wish me luck this afternoon!

That's cool though. And besides I am sure you totally enjoy playing music. That makes it like you're not even working for the money.

@TheHorse Okay, I get that. The ego thing. Well, the main thing is as long as you enjoyed yourself.

Exactly! But it gets to be like work sometimes when band leaders take things too seriously.

Have you heard the music I've already posted here? It's not rock 'n roll, though.

@toniganzon I was pooped yesterday but pretty functional today. Right now I'm working on laundry and getting test grades entered--not too stressful.

@LadyDuck We played there again today. Some are really friendly with us. But some look kind of grumpy, even as they're tapping their feet.

It's a lot of fun. But when there's too many, it feels almost like another job.

@Hannihar I'm trying to roll back a bit. Hopefully by the end of this Summer I'll be in only two bands.

@TheHorse It sounds like you have your hands full and when the fun replaces it with feeling like a job then that is not good.

That's really wonderful ...not for making the money but having that wonderful talent intact with you! God bless dear friend @TheHorse! One query...when I am connecting my Hawaiian guitar to my amplifier that is actually meant for it....I am getting a hum in the amplifier which disappears as ai am touching the strings...what could be the problem? I will be highly obliged! thanks!

@TheHorse , yes I too do have the same feeling....In fact I am connecting this instrument after many years ...there could be some aging problems too...i will need to get it checked by some expert! Thanks!

Hmm. It sounds like "grounding" problem of some sort. Are all of the "contacts" good? Cord to guitar? Amplifier to cord?

@AKRao24 have you tried spraying De-Oxit, or some similar electric contact cleaner, on all contacts (plugs, sockets, etc)? That can help sometimes.

A bit too busy at times. I was exhausted by the end of that weekend. But as you know, doing "art" and getting paid for it is satisfying.

@TheHorse I agree, The first few thousand dollars checks got kept me painting. Now I am recovering from knee replacement and can't get to my studio space but I only have about a dozen pieces of slate left, last year was a big one for my art. I've been looking for slate on kijjijj and have found some around and reasonable prices but my messages to the owners has been ignored. I will be looking for more soon, Haven't been on line much since the surgery.

I've gotten pretty comfortable with it, though I prefer singing with a guitar in my hand. I did get some compliment from strangers on my bass playing last night--that was cool.

I agree. Hey, maybe I'll put some more polyurethane on my coasters (working on three pairs-is that "mass production"?) before I teach my evening class. But I have to review my notes first. Bother. No rest for the wicked.

Did you paste the links to your youtube? But it was actually the songs that gave you the opportunity to earn so much.
