It is super childish, but at this point I don't care. A while back I wrote about a friend who asked for money and I gave him some when he needed food and I was super pissed because of he didn't spend it wisely and was out of food again a day later and begged for more money. Well he is at it again. He sent me a message last night asking for money because he has nothing to eat. Also, I can't give him any food because he doesn't live near me. It seems cruel but I am not giving him money. Seriously, he gets more money than my mother who pays rent, utilities, food, and stuff to fix up the house and other bills. And still manages to have a little bit left for more food in case something happens. He doesn't have to pay for utilities and buys stupid toys. So I just turned my messenger offline because I don't want to deal with him. I turned it on briefly to see if a friend was online and damn it, he saw me and messaged again. I'll respond later tonight, but I really don't want to deal with that bull right now. Stop buying your dang toys and buy food, you idiot.

Yeah, hopefully with ignoring him he gets the memo.

If you give him money again, you are encouraging his irresponsible behavior. So, you better be firm with him and tell him he's not going to have anymore. When he understands that, he will stop pestering you.

He won't, he just gets mad. He gets so mad, so I rather just ignore. I will try and talk to him, but I already know how it is going down.

Just reading this bugs me! I get so annoyed with people asking others for money with the stupid poor choices they make. Be honest and tell him what you think if he keeps pestering you!

I just didn't feel like dealing with him because I was working and I didn't want to lose that motivation, I'll try and talk to him today.

You are doing the right thing. Some people need to learn things that hard way.

@DesirousDreamer true. You are actually doing your friend a favor by not lending him any cash.

We all have to learn how to survive. We can't just keep mooching off people, that is wrong.

I'm getting too old for that baloney... I'd probably send your last sentence to him. The funny thing about freeloaders is that they're super resourceful when it comes to finding a victim to leech off of. He'll be fine. If you want to be somewhat nice, perhaps you can send him a link to contact information for a food bank in his area.

@DesirousDreamer Yeah, that's pretty typical for people who want to just get handouts. They don't want help so much as they want freebies.

Oh my gosh, if I sent that sentence I would never hear the end of it. I know he will be fine which is why I don't feel bad for not giving him money for food. And I actually have tried to do that for him, and he gets so mad.

@yukimori You are very right. If only people would stop helping him and learn what he is doing.

Irresponsible and people letting them get away with too much for too long.

Instead of giving him money, offer to accompany him to the grocery store, let him choose what he needs (within a $20 or $30 dollar limit, and you offer to pay. If he refuses, then he obviously isnt hungry.

As I said in my post, I don't live near him so I can't do that. I can't give him food or I would.
