Shockingly i have never done this before. But then i dont lock my doors, and dont have automatic locks My sister is the queen of doing this. She texts me then shows up at my work like i'm suppose to do something. Her boyfriend just laughed at her and told her its her problem. I said well tow truck can do it buts it $60 to $90 to do so. Just get a coat hanger and stick it under the rubber piece. You would think by now she would know. She lost her regular keys and then locked the spare inside. She kept showing up at my work. She askdd if my keys would open her car. I said very unlikely as we have two seperate makes of cars since her has a sensor due to automatic whereas mine didnt so if she tried it may lock down the engine. I tols hee are the keys in the ignition. Of course they are. I go well not all 4 doors will locm. Apparently the drivers door wont. She went and checked it didnt lock.

Lol so she thought she had locked her keys in but really hadn't? I have locked mine in many times so now I have AAA that I pay for in case this happens.

@ricki_911 One time when my husband and I were young and kid free we locked our keys in outside of Staples and thankfully there was a coat hanger in the closet they let us have and we got the door opened. Most places only have plastic hangers anymore so that wouldn't even be an option. I am really forgetful so to me this AAA is well worth. Sometimes I won't use it at all in a year but sometimes I will use it a few times.

@shaggin I coulldnt imagine paying someone. But people jump at it. I have never paid anything. I mean only time i had issue was 1 flat tire and my car overheated a few months ago both late at night in the bush. My dad came and helped. But i thought of getting CAA in case as it would be covered.

I have only done it once, about 20 years ago. I was working as a pizza delivery driver. It was a rainy night and I couldn't find the address. When I finally found it I was so flustered that I just jumped out of the car and slammed the door behind me as I ran in with the pizza. Only when I came back out did I realize what I had done. I then had to call the boss, who was not at all impressed that he had to send someone out to rescue me. Oh well, at least I had delivered the pizza.

maybe she needs to copy the keys (important ones, car and house) and ask you to keep them instead.

Per key is $150 to copy. She has 3 sets and my dad has a set.
