Telemarketing Calls

Yesterday should have been National Telemarketing Day as far as I'm concerned. I think I got four calls yesterday and two of them in the same hour. My receiver on my landline still works, despite how hard I slammed the phone down the last time I got a call.
Looking up information regarding telemarketing calls, I found the average telemarketer makes between 150 - 200 cold calls per day. I believe the average per robocall is 200 per day.
When you consider how many telemarketers are out there making calls, it's no wonder people are angry and upset by those unwanted calls.
My phone is registered with the Do Not Call registry. I just registered it again and added my cell phone as well, even though at the moment, my cell isn't getting more than one call a month, which is good. It might be more, but considering I don't use it or check it often, it most likely needed a charge when some tried to come through, as I do see some unknown numbers when I do check it prior to charging it.
Have you registered your phones on the Do Not Call List. It's a good thing to do. How many calls per day do you receive?
Thanks for reading.

My phone is on that list also. I wonder if it is even recognized anymore. I recieve two or three throughout the week. The real frustrating thing is that they wait until I am able to relax and have just fallen back to sleep when another calls. And they only ring once or twice a lot of the time. I try to answer and tell them I am not interested. I don't get near as many as I used to and I think it is because I take the time to do this.

@just4him ......If it is a robocall I do too. Half the time they don't work right and ring once or twice and are gone. I get so frustrated with it ringing like that.

@celticeagle I hate a ringing phone. My phone is right here on my desk. I'm answering it as soon as it rings, and usually hanging up just as fast.

Yes, those are worse. I hang up with those as soon as I recognize it as a telemarketer. I've got a couple calls that aren't telemarketer that I need to listen all the way through for - the pharmacy, and my doctor's office. And last week my insurance as well was an important call. The rest get the hammer as soon as I hear them.

My relatives and myself on occasion gets crank calls from someone who claims they work for the I R S and make threats that the local police have warrants for their arrest unless they pay taxes they owe. I found it is a scam artist. They are annoying as the writers of "Miraculous Wordgirl And Cat Noir" with the story that the two kid heroes must keep the secret identities a secret from each other which leads to awkward stories in the cartoons. At least Batman and Superman know who is who in their down time.

@jstory07 I see them from all over the country, or did before my I.D. stopped working. I need to replace the battery on the phone. Now, I only see the caller if the phone rings while I'm watching regular TV as it will show the name and number on the screen. If it's a telemarketer, I let the phone ring.

That's good you don't. My caller I.D. isn't working right now, so there's no way for me to know who's calling unless I answer the phone.

@thislittlepennyearns That would be frustrating. Can you call his office and get them change the forwarding number?

@just4him all I have is my cell phone too. So that might have something to do with it. I do get spam text messages every day though my number used to belong to a doctor and all.his appointments are still forwarded to my phone

I quite enjoy winding up the ones who
call us.... My favourites were the ones who
sent out a sales team to sell us a conservatory....
They claimed they'd surveyed our house and we
could have a conservatory for £5000 We lived
in a 4th storey apartment at the time

We do not have "Do not call list" here. So every one receives these annoying calls everyday.

The landline which is in my brother-in-law's name is registered but e still get calls which goes to voice mail as we don't answer unknown numbers, My ell is currently not registered but I haven't gotten many calls since changing numbers a few months back. Even if you are on the list some of the "fly by night" companies still call as they just start@ a certain number like XXX-0000 and then go in order down XXX-0001. ...0002 and so on.
