KEEP CALM BE AVERAGE. It’s the newest cool thing among the youngsters. Until some years ago we thought they aimed at being the best, the greatest, the excellent, the richest. Money was the criteria of success for them. After years of running the rat race they seem to have realized the futility of it. Now, it looks like their outlook to life has changed. Many of them just want to go with the flow and be content. Have you noticed? Or, is it my figment of perception?

I haven't noticed. They want to ride the best cars etc. It depends on the age group you're referring to though.

Best cars, best motorcycles, best watches, there are still people who want them, mainly among the moneyed class. I'm speaking of a trend observed among the general group of youth.

I haven't noticed really but I don't get out among young people very much to have much idea about what their goals and aspirations are nowadays.

I haven't noticed but if they are content with average what a waste of one's potential. Here is a quote by Colin Powell which makes more sense to me, "There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure."
