Favorite "Door" Songs #5 - "Banging the Door"

Oh, you're going to LOVE this one (insert rolling on floor laughing face here.) We are at #5 in my countdown of my favorite songs with "door" in the title: "Banging the Door" by Public Image Limited. Also known as PiL, Public Image Limited is the band formed by John Lydon (whom you fondly remember as Johnny Rotten) after the Sex Pistols imploded. PiL's 1981 album, The Flowers of Romance, is a post punk classic, despite being, as guitarist Keith Levene put it, "possibly the least commercial record ever delivered to a record company." Lydon and Levene recorded the majority of the album themselves, making heavy use of percussion and tape loops. In fact, "Banging the Door" is just one of two songs from the album that actually utilizes a bass guitar. Not released as a single, "Banging the Door" is fairly humorous from an "if you think about it" standpoint. Lydon wrote the song after fans figured out where he lived and began showing up in droves, many going so far as pitching tents in his yard (Lydon claimed it was even worse than during the height of Sex Pistols mania.)
