The picture I attached, is a local orchid we call sangumay blooms. I don’t know it’s English name though. This is one of the orchids, my brother-in-law has in his small garden. It is not only beautiful, but it is also so fragrant. What about in your garden, what flowers gives you the sign whenever summer is nearly approaching?

The botanical name is Dendrobium anosmum, they are beautiful, but they do not grow in our country. Right now the only flowers in bloom in my garden are hyacinth, crocuses, violets and primroses.

Oh Anna, thank you for researching for it. You are so good at it. SO they are in bloom when summer is already so near? I suppose the primroses are fragrant as my lotion with primrose oil is.

@SIMPLYD Summer is not at all around the corner. The 21st of March, Spring starts and this year the weather is pretty bad. The primroses have a very delicate aroma.

Summer? It doesn't even look like spring when I look out of the window. I see white roofs. It snowed yesterday. I'm sure you can't imagine this. :-)

Yes, I can imagine it because I see a lot of pictures on the internet of a snowy place. But you have flowers there that indicate when summer is approaching?

@SIMPLYD Of course. There are also spring flowers which had already come out before the snow came. The photo shows crocuses. --- Problems uploading the photo. I'll try again later.

I don't know the name but it blooms only in May and that's not even summer. But I know it's summer season when the grass starts turning brown.

PAG-ASA said they cannot yet announce officially that it is summer. Though they said that maybe by end of March. So your mom has flowering plants too outside your house. Maybe you can just take a picture of them and post it here.

I think the color is fuschia? It's really a very attractive color. Actually, most orchids have this color. Here too, 3 weeks ago all the mango trees in our neighborhood are filled with flowers. However, the next weeks it always would rain and those flowers were gone now. Hopefully, they will soon have blooms since I think, summer is here already. It has been so sunny these past two days.
