This beautiful fruit is seen hanging in clusters on the star fruit tree. I shall try and make pickle out of these fruits following the bimbli pickle recipe. Star fruit is laden with health properties
The star fruit is that green garnish the sweet potato vendor often displays on his stand. Referred to as ‘kamrakh’ in Hindi, and ‘carambola’ in some parts of the world, this star-shaped tropical fruit appears in both sweet and sour tastes.

It is sweet and sour. Some just enjoy the fruit but I do not. Pickle and jam is what I like

I love this fruit. We used to have two trees of this in our hometown but the other one was toppled down by a strong typhoon that passed our place many years ago. The remaining one would also bear fruits, but usually, when I visit our hometown they were already eaten by my small nieces. It's delicious especially when it is ripe like that. I usually would put some salt before I eat it.

Many like to add salt to fruits that are a bit sour

@allknowing Yes. Or sometimes I dip it in spicy vinegar with some salt. So delicious too!

It's always interesting to see 'exotic' (to us) fruits growing. What else do you do with them?

The pic is nice. I have never tried Kamrakh pickle, though I have eaten it raw many times. I love its taste.
