When God Doesn't Come Through

Read Proverbs chapter 1. The focal verses for this devotional come from verses 27-30.
When your terror comes like a storm,
And your destruction comes like a whirlwind,
When distress and anguish come upon you.
28 “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer;
They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
29 Because they hated knowledge
And did not choose the fear of the Lord,
30 They would have none of my counsel
And despised my every rebuke.
There are many of us, who from time to time, feel that God has abandoned us. Our head knows different, but our heart and circumstances scream that He is no where to be found. There are different reasons this happens. Sometimes God doesn't reveal His ways, but I know from my own experiences, God usually reveals (in his timing) why He seemed distant. One of the reasons, this happens is because we are living in direct disobedience to God. God, our of love, gives guidelines to live by, guidelines that protect and better us. Yet, we often think we are as wise as He. We, sometimes, turn our nose up at Him and insist on doing things our own way. It is in these times, that God will leave us alone. If in our rebellious state, we want God to stay out of our business, then He will.
I humbly ask God to show me when my attitude is wrong. I want to know God more and live a life pleasing to Him. It is easy for me to get sidetracked doing my own thing.
