I will have another Blood Transfusion this Thursday. I just had my cross matching earlier at the center. It's been 3 months in a row now that I have a blood transfusion. Looks like I needed it more often now. So, I started my juicing earlier. And I tried calamansi (lemon) They said it will help me boost up my hemoglobin because of its vitamin C. A lot of patient in the center tried this and so far their hemoglobin is okay. All I need to add a prayer that this will work because as much as possible I don't want to have another blood transfusion anymore. How about you? Did you try juicing too? The photo is mine.

I love pear juice, but I'm not much into other juices. Don't forget to add fat in your diet, because vitamin C only gets digested if you also have fat. Nuts have good fat and also contain iron, that's also essential for good hemoglobin levels. Lemon contains iron too. In fact lemonade tastes a little like iron, or blood.

@JustBhem Foods that contain fat, but I think you already have fat in your diet anyway. We all do, fat is delicious! Vitamin C is fat-soluble, meaning it needs fat to melt itself and be digested. Oil and nuts are sources of good fat, so is fish such as salmon and tuna.

if you take a tablet to increase your hemoglobin level, it is just right for you to have vitamin C to boost the blood in to producing red blood corpuscles. isn't it that every hemodialysis, a blood transfusion is necessary?

@JustBhem indeed .that is why there should be blood transfused for every hemodialysis (hemo- or hema- are prefixes of blood).

@ridingbet Yes, because every session blood was taken from us and not blood gets back to our body.

Yes, it does. We cannot have our treatment if we have a low Hemoglobin. And I have iron tablet for my maintenance too

I think because your kidneys do not produce enough erythropoetin your hemoglobin levels are down.

I couldn't drink straight lemon juice since it's so sour, but I could drink lemon water or lemonade. Is it straight lemon juice, or is there a sweet juice with it too?

Parsley leaves also good haemoglobin content try to have it by making juice you can add lemon for its taste.without worrying of fat you can have chick peas it's fibre content and good to increase haemoglobin level. Hope it works cha Take care .
