Oh, Mamma

Oh, Mamma is a normal phrase that goes in my house, almost a daily thing. My mamma is amazing, she is brilliant, beautiful, outstanding! But like me, she has her...moments. I know where I get my ditziness from. My mom has a panic moment this morning. She walked up to the store and she could not find her wallet in her pocket. She thought she had it the whole time, she even said she felt it in her pocket when she went to turn down her music player in her back pocket. She had to leave the store empty handed to retrace her steps and got all the way home and nothing. Before she left she told customer service about it and they would contact her if anyone turns it in. She got home and called the store to see if they heard anything and no. She then cancels her bank card and tells my grandma what is going on. She was going to get a new bank card, but their systems were down (LIKE ALWAYS, sorry, I have some bitter memories with their stupid computers) and she could not get a new card without her ID. They come back home to make plans of going to the DMV. My mom was going to go tomorrow and my grandma was going to help pay for a new ID if she couldn't get it is free because of some paper she has. Because she couldn't really pay for it herself because she doesn't have a bank card and you need an ID to get a bank card. It was just a endless loop of Ahhhhh I come out of my room to see her and she tells me all that has happened of her losing the wallet, canceling the cards, all of that chaos. I could see her just so drained. I understand, it sucks losing a wallet. She comes up to hug me, we are a very loving family, and we talk for a little bit. She then goes to her desk chair which is covered in a blanket, goes to sit down and sees the wallet. It was on the chair the entire time. It must have fallen out of her pocket or she forgot to put it in her pocket before going to the store. I couldn't hold in my laughter, it was just so silly, because it would and has happened to me before! She was able to unfreeze her bank card and doesn't have to worry about going to the DMV. So yey! Oh, Mamma. I love her. She will never live this down. This almost beats putting the remote in the freezer and the phone in the fridge and calling the shower a refridgerator.

Your mom is so cute. I suddenly missed my mom. I have not visited my parents since my mom and I had an argument but maybe tomorrow I will. Thank you for your posting this discussion. I realized how Much I love my mommy.

I hope everything gets patched up! We all need to remember how great our parents or people who raised us are, they had to deal with us for so long haha

Funny! Once Tony put the coke in the cabinet and not the fridge and not long ago I was putting up dishes and put a bowl of cabbage in the cabinet.

@DesirousDreamer So true and to have a new ID issued, we need to go to the police first to declare that the previous has been stolen or lost.

Yes especially an Id because that is needed for everything these days

@LadyDuck Oh, we don't have to do that. We just go to the DMV or order a new one from the DMV and they mark it as lost or stolen.

I'm glad she found her wallet, and saved the headache of going through getting a new card and going to the DMV. Yeah, those are the places I look first when I lose something. I can't imagine how those items end up in the freezer and fridge. Though I've never called the shower a refrigerator before.

@DesirousDreamer That's for sure. Anything can happen. I once left my wallet in the shopping cart seat and the store called me to let me know they had it. I hurried back there to get it.

She couldn't really look at the chair first if she was already at the store haha and I didn't know until I woke up and she was already home sitting on the chair and didn't know it was there because she thought she dropped it outside haha and it is very easy, especially since she was a single mom, having to care for me and anything happens when a mom is tired enough haha

That is hilarious! I am surprised I haven't put my phone in the fridge yet, it is always with me, but I have left it in random places before.

Holy Crap! Good thing the bank was close and she didn't get to close her bank cards! I have to say its one hell of a hassle but at least she found her wallet again. Reminds of my mom who kept forgetting or loosing things.,

Yeah it is only a mile from here. If she had lost her wallet outside she would have had to get a new bank card but since the wallet was inside the home she didn't have to worry about it.

It happens. I always do a thorough searching before I decide to cancel my card

She thought she dropped it, can't blame her for being cautious haha she thought she felt it in her pocket, she would have sworn up and down that it was in her pocket.

Of course, she is a mother, when a mother has nothing to worry or stress out about, that is when you have to be scared haha

I was looking for detergent in the fridge I think. It was similar to that. Reminders to keep on track are very helpful!! Glad she is okay and found the wallet!!! I scream somethin' terrible when I loose mine!!

I do that kind of stuff all the time. Mixing up where bowls plates are, looking for my phone while it is still in my hand. it is a fun time being absent minded. Ehh at least a lot of laughs come out of it haha
