It is time to turn off the television for a year.

I will only watch DVR recorded shows that I like, but no more news. I only wish others would do the same. Then TV would have to change. Too many Trump news reports. All FAKE. Too many Dog Food Commercials. All about Golden Retrievers. Too many different shows about nothing new. I mean, It's like living every single day as if it were Ground Hog's Day. You know, when this guy wakes up to the same day every single day but no body else realizes it.

Trump news reports are fake? I don’t think so.

What do you think is real about it?

@NJChicaa I agree. You misunderstood me. I say FAKE NEWS based on the news that they keep pumping out 24/7 about Trump and letting his press secretary defend his actions on the news to reporters as usual.

@lookatdesktop Pretty much everything. He says that it is fake because he doesn't like it but that doesn't mean that it isn't true.

We hardly ever watch the news, just to depressing and tired of all the politics all the time. When I feel the need I go and read different ones online.

It's changing. Without internet we would be in a way, in the dark about world events.

The stock market doesn't do fake. It is as real as it gets. Fluxes in the market maybe as common as the weather but lately the government's actions and the president's actions or Tweets does have an effect on the stock markets. It is happening as we text. Changes look bad at the moment. I can't stand it but glad I am not an investor. It will hit us indirectly when we reach the point the dollar is almost worthless. Oh the dollar may not have as much value now as yesterday even.

That is very true. I rarely watch TV and I prefer being online where I can choose what to see or read.

I agree. Being in control like choosing which magazine or more to the point, which book you might check out at your local library.

Thanks. Yep. Television has gone south anyway. It is not for me. I wasted enough hours in front of that TV set to get a master's degree in just about every subject under the sun! And time is limited and you can't get back the hours. Ya know what I mean?

@lookatdesktop Absolutely! I can say it was a waste of time.

I totally agree! I haven't watched tv in many years. I enjoy the peace and quiet and not having a television offers me. If I want to know what's going on in the world, I'll go to facebook. :-)

That is true, but I do sometimes still watch the ABC world news if I can stomach it.

I don't watch the news regularly, unless it's local or the Nightly News with Lester Holt. I do DVR shows while I watch others too. I don't think I can give TV for a year.

It will certainly be a challenge for me. I may fail at it but I plan on stopping with the excessive TV as I think it has become a bad habit.

@KristenH I plan on making it at least 24 hours not watching anything except the FAKE NEWS at 5:30 Central Time. LOL

@lookatdesktop That's understandable to me. I limit my TV watching everyday.
