I have a talent for understatement

To say that it's been a stressful week would be an understatement.
To say that it's been weird would also be an understatement.
The ironic thing is that I can't even go into details on here. Normally another reason I love MyLot is because I can say things that I wouldn't say on social media type sites, or go into details that I wouldn't otherwise, but in this case I gave my word that I wouldn't mention details and I'm good to my word.
About all I can say is that I had a bad feeling about a week ago Monday. At first I thought it was because of my physical (which I had been neglecting for the past 5 years, whups!) - and that went well, if not drawn out since the doc kept getting interrupted.
Well he said I needed to get some imaging done - nothing urgent he just wanted to see, but there is always a sense of dread when your told you need imaging.
Finally after about 90 minutes I got out of there and treated myself to fast food breakfast.
And that's when I got the call from my mom. My dad's situation had begun. The situation which I told him I wouldn't go into details about. About all I can say is that he was on a med that interacted really wrong.
He's been in and out of the hospital in the past week and I've been staying with my mom. I actually did go to my home for 2 days and now my presence has been requested again. Well I was going to come in later in the afternoon anyway, but it was stressed on that I roll out of bed and come here asap. So there goes a lot of what I wanted to do today. I admit it has put me in a bad mood that I feel guilty about. But what can one do?
As an added bonus today, 3/26 - is my 5 year anniversary of my engagement. I know I have ranted about it before, but if you haven't read before - my engagement lasted 6 months, during which my ex changed 100%. It could have been worse, I could have married him, but still today reminds me of back when he was still acting like a total prince and the day is a little sentimental to me. Usually I celebrate and buy myself a gift and go out to eat, something tells me that today will not allow for that.
Anyway, hope you've all been well, I know that I miss reading your discussions and hope that your Mondays have been better

Many of us just have too much going on, but there is not much we can do to change things! Hope all goes well for your family-life happens and things are not always easy.

@FayeHazel You know, people always say that we must forget the past especially if it's painful... But really, the past is part of the making of our present ..so we should celebrate it ...

Thank you so much -- I feel for my mom who bears the brunt of all this, but God has blessed her with a gentle strength. She is my hero. .... it's looking at least a little bit better

So sorry for whatever bad happened. Am glad though that you can be there for your parents, and also that you are keeping your word to them. Because our word, means everything! Least to us other good folks!
Wish you could go out and do a little something today.. and sorry it didn't work out.

@Courtlynn Thanks :-) Right now I'm thinking I will go for a hair cut, do some thrift shopping and go out to eat maybe with a friend - the hair stylist I like is about an hour drive away so it will be a day trip for sure

Thanks dear, I appreciate that. I try to be a good daughter and at the same time, not resent it too much. What a horrible thing to say, I know. Sometimes it gets to me.
I agree entirely - I do not have much to offer in this life, but I do have my word. I think it is beyond measureable value.
Thanks - I think I will plan my "anniversary" for another date :-)

Hi Faye. I think this is the first time Ive met you. Been here for almost a month. Anyways, I am sorry to know about your father. Hoping that things are better. It seems that you got a long week and had gone thru a lot lately. My dad had been in the hospital for almost three days for his operation but all is okay. It is sad that things did not end the way we wanted, as regards to your ex-fiance. I believe that things happen for a reason. It may be a blessing in disguise. I am sure youre a strong girl. Just keep fighting, as we all do. And just trust. Good day.

Thanks so much for the well wishes. I'm sorry to hear of your dad as well, but I'm happy that he's ok, I hope he recovers soon. It's hard when family is going through hard times.
Ah it is true - I'm much happier that it didn't work with that particular man. Though this time of year reminds me of the good times.

My dad is okay now and my mom is happy because my dad can accompany her again.
That is true. We will never forget happy times as they are memories that in a way makes us smile.

Aww how sad about your engagement. It is good you didn't marry him and then him changing that way but it is still had going through that with him being so amazing then changing so much. My late husband changed a lot for the worse after we were married. I hope your father will be okay!
