Diary Saturday 24th March 2018 Today, with the skies clearing pleasantly, I headed to the city centre to look at stalls set up for the Preston Community Groups Open Day where local group ranging from the Samaritans to religious charity organizations were promoting their services. Though there were no new groups I wanted to sign up to, it was nice to see o many groups are available. Entertainment was provided on the main stage by dance groups from around the community too. I did my final shopping trip getting supplies in for the science fiction convention trip pending later on the week. Diary Sunday 25th March 2018 The clock went forward an hour in the early hours of the morning. It took me by surprise as for some reason I thought it happened next week. I noticed the change early a my computer clock adjusted automatically, and luckily I wasn’t going out anywhere so the lost hour made no real difference to me. I changed the time on my phone and clocks in the flat. I contacted the Harrogate, Yorkshire hotel I am due to stay in to check they had confirmation of my booking, as I booked online through a travel group. The hotel quickly confirmed hat they have me booked in. Diary Monday 26th March 2018 Only two sleeps to go before my convention vacation starts, so I finalized my main suitcase packing and made lists of task still to perform. I did my job searching and relaxed to watch some evening TV. Diary Tuesday 27th March 2018 My last day at home, and I bought in some non-alcoholic drinks for the house to be sure I have some in on my return – I already have some to take away with me. I sorted out which clothes I am travelling in, made sure my train tickets and a copy of the route to the Harrogate Hotel is in my mall bag, and put my suitcase and bag by the front door ready for departure early tomorrow. I went online checking the weather for my destination, seeing that it looks as if it might rain for the first few days of my journey. Then I just stayed home, job searched and watched Youtubes. I plan to go to bed early to be up early tomorrow. I may not get much posted during my vacation though I am taking my laptop away with me. Arthur Chappell
