If it rains, it pours. And that's what best described the weather for this spring afternoon. Normally, I would pass at 90% chance of rain. But since I passed last month when this happened, and this was my last lesson until mid-April, I wore my rain poncho and headed outside. I wished it was extra-long instead of one-size-fits-all and had long sleeves, since it reached the waistline. Needless to say, when I walked on the sidewalks, which wasn't puddled by the rain and unlike the streets, my socks and jeans were soaked, both ways. For today's lesson, I did another warm up in the lap pool with the regular and the elementary backstrokes. Then she wanted me to do some more freestyle swimming to reach the cones for two laps. The other two laps were without cones. Then she taught me how to streamline the freestyle stroke with the cones, when the hands were above my head like an airplane. I did struggle with this one for sure and did a bit of breast stroke to the end of the pool. In about two weeks from today, I'll text Paige to set up my next lessons as I go on break, starting this weekend to rest and renew my membership for a final year at this time. Meanwhile, I'll practice my freestyle tomorrow in the leisure pool tomorrow. And maybe when I return in two weeks, I'll do more freestyle and backstrokes for practice in the leisure pool. Let's hope it doesn't rain then.
