Grocery Store Wasn't Too Crowded This Morning

I really wasn't looking forward to going to Publix this morning since I figured it would be mobbed but I was wrong. I was able to find everything I wanted and I didn't even have to wait in line. I did end up buying more than I expected since they had Helmanns mayo buy one get one and the pink grapefruit sections I like were 10 for $10.
I realized that I have hamburgers to cook before we go back north and I had no sliced cheese so I got some thin sliced Swiss and I bought some Pure Leaf Iced Tea so I have something to drink for the next two weeks.
I went to the store to buy some frozen cream puffs to bring to the in-laws tomorrow and since they were on sale I bought cream puffs and eclairs. I ended up spending more than anticipated but just about everything was on sale.

I know I was quite stunned especially not having to wait in line, everyone must have shopped yesterday.

Yes it was a really good day for bargains and now I have lots of food to finish out our time here.

Glad you had a good turn out at the store and it wasn't packed. I go to the stores Friday night's after work and do my shopping. I should start going late at night though as it's quieter then.

@BelleStarr That's good. I plan to go friday after work since I'm only working a half day so it shouldn't be too busy at 1pm I would hope.

Usually, I chose a mid-week day since I am retired but this was a last minute stop.

I love Publix, we don't have them in Connecticut either but they are always clean and well stocked and they have great sales.

@rebelann When we were in Fort Worth Texas I went to an Albertsons but I have never heard of a big 8, we have neither of them in Connecticut.

here, when a department store have some discount/sale, it's so hard to walk inside because there are many people searching for what they want to buy, even unnecessary for their needs, as long as they are discounted.

Oh yes, it is pretty much going to just be snacks and sweets but I am cooking dinner for us at home before we go over.

Wow that is lucky. My mom went to the store and it was terrible, there was so many people apparently. Luckily she didn't have to worry about driving, or being in that parking lot would have been awful.

I find Publix generally is a little high but their sales are very good.

Nice. I have read a lot today about getting big discounts for food in the grocery. I wish we have those big discounts here, most especially now it is Easter.
