HE IS RISEN Luke 24:1-11 Luke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. 3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words, 9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. (KJV) The single greatest event in history wasn’t believed by the disciples because women told them. Women were second class citizens in that culture, and anything of any worth and value was proclaimed by men. Yet God determined that a woman, and not just one, but several would be the first witnesses of the resurrection. God told Moses that by the mouth of two witnesses would a matter be determined true. During Jesus’ trial, they couldn’t find two witnesses who could bring charges against him, yet in Jesus’ resurrection, not just one, but several witnesses, women, verified the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. What did it take for you to believe Jesus rose from the dead? Or are you still sitting on the fence, doubting what the Scriptures claim as undeniable truth? Pilate had asked Jesus, ‘What is truth’ when asked if he was a king, and Jesus told him the reason for his death – to bear witness to the truth. John 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. 38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. (KJV) Today, many people sit on the opposite side of the fence, unconvinced the resurrection took place, or that Jesus is the Savior and Messiah God promised Adam and Even in the Garden of Eden. They want more convincing proof. People have gone out and painstakingly tried to prove the resurrection was false, or that Jesus was not who he claimed he was. When they searched for the hoax, they found the undeniable truth that Jesus is the Son of God. He died, he was buried, and he rose again, just as the Scriptures said he would, and those who found that answer, instead of the one they expected, have become Christians, writing down their findings and proclaiming – He IS Risen. If you are one of those people sitting on the fence, denying the resurrection of Jesus Christ, take up the challenge to search for yourselves, or simply accept what Scripture says. John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. (KJV) Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to be my Savior. Thank you for providing the proof of his resurrection. Give me the boldness to proclaim the undeniable truth of Jesus’ resurrection. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 1 April 2018 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

All I am sure of is that Jesus resurrected and we are saved from our sins. Those who believe otherwise are people who had to find every reason to justify that the Resurrection is not true. Thanks, Valerie.

Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the third New Moon. Sometimes it correlates with Passover, as it did this year.
