At what age does going out to clubs and bars become inappropriate?

I have been very curious as to what other people think about partying and going out to clubs. Being here in Amsterdam I have gone out quite a bit, and I seem to see alot of older men and women. Usually the older men seem to be hitting on younger women and what not. At what age does that stop? Is it okay to be in a serious relationship and late 20's or 30's still going to clubs? What is the purpose? Please someone explain this to me?

I am not to sure about what age you should stop going to clubs. I stopped when I was 22 because that is when I got married and I did not think my husband would like me out partying. I have been a handful of times since then with my sister, but always felt funny about it.

Exactly....its nice to hear from you...That is what i was curious about. Now just because you get married, i dont think that you necessarily have to stop...bc at 22 you wouldnt stand out like a sore thumb. But of course everyone has their reasons. It just seems strange to me that older men dont feel awkward or do not appear to feel strange about being at clubs where there are girls in their 20's around, with them being in obvious mid 40's...

Why not? I go clubbing and pubbing with my friends to enjoy.. and I usually go with my boyfriend. I don't think it's ever inappropriate, unless you're underaged. It's just a place for us to hang out and have fun. :-) Being young has no limits!

I dont think there is an age when you shouldnt go to clubs. Yes I think they would feel out of place but older men seem to like the younger women so I dont think it bothers them. I think if you are married you shouldnt go as often but can still go. I am in my 30's and I still go ocasionally with my friends. I just dont go every weekend anymore. I definately do go to pick up men.

I dont agree with that..bc I feel awkward and uncomfortable when men that could be my father hit on me.. or sit in the back of the room and stare at the young women in the club...

Sure why not? I'm 36, married, mom etc and still enjoy goin out..well I did when I was still drinking...My husband doesnt drink and doesnt enjoy the 'nightlife' but i have no problem goin alone or with friends when I'm visiting etc....And as far as the hitting on goes I've seen younger girls (barely drinking age which in Ontario is 19) hitting on older guys....

I enjoy socializing, meeting new ppl, having some laughs etc and have been a part of the bar scene since i was 14...I could stay at home but the same old same old gets boring especially considering I live in the country and spend majority of my time alone and at home...Since moving here to the U.S I've only been out a couple times over here and few on visits back home but when I was still living in Canada I went out at least once a month....

I do not think that there is an age limit for a person to be in a club or not. I think that the point of a club is to get out and have some fun. Maybe have a few drinks and dance associate with friends and just to get out of our everyday environments!

There are different clubs for different age groups of people. You have you clubs for the younger people and for the older people, you just have to know where to look. In my hometown there are 4 different sections of town with 4 entirely different groups of people going out. You have one section wher eit is the college age types. Another where it is the mid twenties type with the trendy bars, another section where it is a lot of couples from their late twenties to the late thirties, and still another section where it's mostly mid thirties and over going out. So no matter what age you are, ther eis always something to fit your taste while going out. All you have to do is know where to look.

I think it is more for the person to decide when enough is enough with the bar. I know for myself I stopped going 5 years a go when I was 26. A lot had to do with having kids but even then, my desire to go to bars was not there. I think it may just be a phase that everyone grows out of.
