Since I am a child I remember to celebrate Easter with my family, now I always try to explain my children the meaning of this holiday and its importance. Every year some family visit us during this season and my cousin that is almost a brother for me went to my house with his two little boys, I am godmother of one of them. My children and his children love spend time each other so this year we decided to organize a bunny search in my garden. We had a lot of fun playing with our kids, it is such a good feeling seeing their happiness. This a photo of some of our moments. Is it usual to search for eggs and bunnies in your country during the Easter?

Treasure hunt is usually a thing when the weather gets warmer, but it's quite uncommon to search for eggs or bunnies. Maybe times have changed, but back in my childhood, I never played that game.

We never did too. It was just going to the Church and lunch out with the family. My parents are not into those things.

Here in Switzerland there is not this habit and not in Italy for what I know, unless things have recently changed.

@nela13 You surely imported from the United States. In Europe we tend to copy their habits.

Now it is here, but it is an imported holiday. We used to have the Holy Week with a big Mass on Sunday.

@nela13 Here it used to be only the Holy Week. The Easter has to do with the pagan coming of the spring and we are nearing autumn.

@cintol it is fair that way because they have different ages and the older ones found more.

In Germany, this is part of the Easter tradition. As the weather can be bad at Easter, the search is sometimes organised inside the house.

Besides the religious part of Easter is explained to children, this is a way to build memories.

It is more than the bunnies and the eggs that we used to celebrate this day. We may also remember what Jesus did for us. We are alive because of what He did on that cross 2000+ years ago. God bless you and your family, friend! :)

That is the real meaning of Easter, this was just a game to play during the afternoon.

I also do not know why Easter is associated with bunnies and eggs. But since my country was also colonized by America for a hundred years, the egg hunt has become a mall activity on Easter Sunday. The festivity, otherwise, has not gained much following, the Filipinos still celebrate the Resurrection dawn time on Easter Sunday. Glad you are a doting mother and aunt to the children. You make childhood a beautiful one for the children to cherish. Kudos.

I think that the origins of the Easter bunny is from pagan tradition.
