Sometimes I Wonder...

I have become a big fan of medical shows and I have begun to notice that a lot of the story lines are dealing with mistakes that are being made and covered up. I'm really hoping that this isn't what is really taking place but just an interesting story to hold your attention. The good thing is that the doctor in question is always caught but it is horrible to think that there are doctors out there who are doing these things just to make more money. Are you watching any medical shows on TV right now??

I've been hearing about more and more mis-diagnoses. It's very worrying - and also about people being encouraged to have procedures for which the doctor is getting a kickback.

@Hate2Iron There's a bit fuss in Australia at the moment about women being hassled into having surgical mesh inserted for various pelvic problems. Some were coerced into an immediate decision etc etc. Turns out the doctors were getting kickbacks from the manufacturers.

I dont like these kinds of shows. But I have no doubt that there are quite a few bad doctors..they are part of the evil just like every other profession unfortunately.

Are you talking about "real medical shows" or a TV show for entertainment?

@Hate2Iron I am always scared at the idea to need to be hospitalized. We already experienced medical mistakes in our family.

For the moment, I'm not really watching any. Hopefully, there aren't many medical mistakes that are being covered up.

I watched that once. In one of the cases the surgeons forgot surgery tools in patient's body which later appeared in the MIR scan
