The recent death of a family friend was expected, but it was very hard to bear, as well

John had lived a full life, and he died at home, at 88 years old

John had lived a long life, but towards the end of his life, he got cancer. He was bedridden, and it took him a few months to die, because he was, and had lived a very healthy lifestyle. The doctors had sent him home, and they had told him that they could do no more for him, John. He died, and his wife was allowed some rest, but then again what is rest, when she will come to death herself one day too. Life lived is death visited. All must enter death's door, and all have it partially opened for them by life, by their soul, and by God. The body often clicks on, seemingly lifeless, but the final energy supply is only cut off by God, when the soul journey in that body is finally complete. Nevertheless, the end of any cycle, is always painful, for all who witness it, taking place. I was present for the passing of my mother inlaw, my mother and more recently my father. I'm sorry for your loss.

Yes, he was very healthy, right up until the last few years of his life when he got the cancer, and even then, this didn't stop him riding his beloved pushbike around, until the last 6 months of his life, or so.

It's so sad what we as human beings, do to our own body:( Yet, we all stand in line, to die some day.

Yes, time is the great destroyer. Nothing can out last time. It marches relentlessly on, crushing us all in its wake within time.

@innertalks Steve, first of all I am sorry for the loss of your family friend. Even though he was 88 it is still hard to lose someone no matter what age they are. I hope his wife will be ok.

Yes, she is a bit run down from looking after him, but I expect after a while, she will grow stronger again. She has her two sons to help her.

@innertalks My grandfather passed away when I was 14 and I felt very empty inside. I loved him so and to this day I stil miss him and wish he were here with my cat and myself.
